NA 29 is one of the two constituencies of District Swat KPK. Swat is one of the most beautiful valleys of Pakistan and is a source of attraction for tourists from around the world. However, Swat has seen a massive bloodshed in past decade with a dominance of Talibanization and armed operations. Politics of Swat revolves around multiple forces including MMA, ANP, PPP and Muslim League. PTI has also emerged as another rising force with a huge public support. PTI Chairman Imran Khan has also tried his luck from NA 29 in 1997 and 2002 elections but failed to win in both elections.

NA 29 Swat 2008 Election Result:
In 2008 elections, MMA was unable to defend NA 29 seat and ANP was able to get its candidate elected from this constituency.

NA 29 Swat Party Position 2013 Elections:
After joining of Amir Muqam in PML-N, now PML-N has also become a major force in Swat, Shangla and surrounding regions and its expected that now PML-N will also emerge as a major force in 2013 elections from NA 29 Swat.

Religious vote is divided between JUI-F, Jamat e Islami, SSP and other religious groups and this voter split will make it difficult for candidates of religious parties to win NA 29 Swat seat.

PTI has also gained a good popularity and its expected that PTI will also be considered as a serious threat by other parties. PTI hasn’t yet finalized its candidate. Potential candidates of PTI from NA 29 Swat are Dr Sher Afgan Khan Kaka and Dr Amjad.

ANP, PPP Parliamentarian and PPP Sherpao are also major political forces of Swat. ANP enjoys a good public support and every party is eager to beat ANP in upcoming elections from this constituency.
